I’m the founder of Shining Light LLC, and I help small business owners clean up their books, organize their records, and prepare for insurance premium audits with practical support and no judgment.
My background is a little different than what people usually expect in this space, and honestly, that is part of what makes this business work.
I have an MBA in Accounting and professional experience as a Premium Insurance Auditor, where I’ve worked with records across workers’ compensation, general liability, and liquor liability policies. That experience taught me how businesses are evaluated during insurance premium audits and which records, payroll details, and documentation really matter.
Why My Approach Feels Different
Before this work, I spent over a decade in mental health, eligibility, and outreach, including years as a Qualified Mental Health Professional. That experience shaped how I work with people just as much as my financial background did.
It taught me how to:
stay calm when someone feels overwhelmed
explain complicated systems in plain language
help people move forward without adding shame
meet people where they are and work step by step
That matters here, too.
